Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and Onlays
Partial Crowns
Inlays, also known as partial crowns, are essential restorative dental treatments that offer a conservative approach to treating damaged or decayed teeth. These custom-made restorations are crafted from durable materials like porcelain or composite resin, seamlessly fitting into the prepared tooth structure. By preserving healthy tooth enamel, inlays provide a more conservative alternative to traditional dental crowns, promoting long-term dental health. Their precise fit ensures optimal functionality, aesthetics, and longevity. Inlays effectively restore strength to weakened teeth, preventing further deterioration and enhancing overall oral health. With their natural appearance and functional benefits, inlays remain a popular choice for patients seeking a reliable solution to dental problems.

The Process
Removing the decayed area of the tooth is the first thing to be done. A mold is taken and then sent to a lab to create a restoration. It can be made of porcelain, gold or composite resin. This process generally takes between two and three weeks to complete. During that time, a temporary inlay or onlay will be used. Once the restoration is made, it will be placed into your mouth and set with cement. You’ll have a natural looking tooth and no one will know the difference.
